Biography
Martin E Hale, MD, is a clinician with 25 years of experience in orthopedics and pain management. He is an assistant professor of surgery at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale-Davie, Florida, and is the medical director of Gold Coast Research, LLC, of Plantation, Florida.
He is a graduate of Columbia University and the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. After clinical training in surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in New York and in orthopedic surgery at Montefiore Medical Center and the University Hospital for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, Dr Hale established his private practice in Plantation.
His research interests include pharmacological management of chronic pain and osteoarthritis, as well as analgesia in orthopedic surgery. Dr Hale is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of several specialty organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Pain Society, and the American Medical Association.
Dr Hale has presented many reports related to pain management research at national and international meetings and has published extensively on the topic. Additionally, he has served as moderator and lecturer at an annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, and has been a peer reviewer for several journals publishing articles on pain. He consults on clinical trial design and has served on multiple advisory boards relating to new product development.
